It’s ok to talk - Gary Sizmur RIP
Donation protected
Walking from Launceston to Okehampton 13th January in memory of Gary Sizmur.
This time last year, Okehampton RFC were due to play in the annual big fixture of the season when Pete and James, raising money for a defibrillator for the club walked from Launceston Rugby Club to Okehampton RFC. It was Gary Sizmur (Sizzy) who dropped them off at the starting point in the early hours.
Sadly, a year on and we are mourning his passing.
Over the past few months following the huge loss, Okehampton RFC, North Tawton Rugby Club and Bridestowe Cricket Club have embarked on raising money for men’s mental health charities, a total already exceeding £10,000.
With the Launceston v Okehampton fixture due to be played on the 13th January, it seems absolutely fitting that we embark on the walk again but this time, it will be completed alongside Garys Wife, Charli and Mum, Pam.
We know money is tight and especially at this time of the year. The generosity people have shown means so much to the clubs, friends and family of Sizzy.
If anyone feels able to donate, the money raised will go to Pete’s Dragon Charity who have been supporting Sizzy’s family.
Irrespective of whether you donate or not, we can all do our bit to ensure we keep men talking. #orfc #okehamptonrfc #okehamptonrugbyclub #westdevon #mentalwellness
