Hi Friends, as many of you know, this past year has been extremely difficult. After being unexpectedly laid off in June, I’ve spent the last nine months navigating life without consistent income or healthcare.
That, in and of itself, has been stressful. But then, it got worse.
Since November, I’ve been dealing with serious dental issues that started with two broken teeth, which has now escalated into root canals, caps, an extraction, and a wisdom tooth removal. I’ve managed to access some state-level assistance, but it still isn’t enough to begin to cover the full cost of treatment...
Here’s the truth: we live in a country where healthcare is treated like a luxury, not a right. I shouldn’t have to feel ashamed to ask for help when the system itself is broken.
But here I am.
So, for my birthday on May 6th, I’m asking for something radical: community. Whether it’s $5, $50, or just sharing this post, your support gets me closer to the care I need and sends a message that people deserve better than this.
I know times are tough, especially right now, and I completely understand if things are tight. This goal won’t cover all my expenses, but it will give me some breathing room. I’ve been handling my own health insurance for the last four years, so I’m no stranger to managing things, but right now, I could really use some support as I navigate this difficult process
Every little bit helps.
And thank you for being in my corner. It seriously means so, so much!
