Anyone who knows my brother Eric, has definitely been the recipient of his help, whether it was for his skills as an emergency mechanic, a ride home, peacemaker, food supplier, shirt-off-his-back donation, money-help, rescuer, protector, bear-hugger, sit-down AND stand-up comedy, professional encourager, smile-enforcer, smart-mouth response, comedy dealer in the middle of destruction, calming goat, abuse shelter, best friend, inspirational advice, cheering section, and on and on and on.

This week, he faced an emergency in his own life after an accidental injury led to infection, and was dealt a sudden surgery involving amputation. To make it more stressful, due to a mistake in paperwork, found out he has no insurance coverage, and additionally, he is looking at being off of work for a while to learn how to function in a different way, which doesn't really help cover his regular bills. This has taken it's toll on his finances in a major way and is causing some seriously unnecessary stress when he should be able to relax and heal properly.

Some of his childhood friends (Lorinda and Cheryl) realized that for more than 40 years, he has been taking care of everyone else without asking for a penny, and feel that it's time for ALL OF US to figure out how to give back, now that he truly needs the help, and show him how much it has meant to us to have him in our lives.

We are aiming for covering first and foremost, his regular bills while he's off work to heal and re-learn some functions, and secondly, medical expenses that have incurred and will continue to incur as he needs further medical care.

SO! We don't care if its a big fat donation of a million dollars, or if it's one donation of $2, or if it's $10 a week until you just can't remember who he is... EVERYTHING HELPS.

And also, if you can share this with groups of people he may have made an impact on, or just share it on your own, some of your friends may help just because Eric has helped YOU (someone they love).

You know he's the kindest heart in this ugly world. Help him through this if you are able.
