It's always the innocent one!

My name is Michael Gibson. I live with my wife and two children in Crestview Florida. On November18th, my sister, Christina, and her family were in a catastrophic car accident outside Baptist Memorial Hospital in Covington, TN. Two of Christina's younger childern were in the car which sustained a head on collision. My niece, Skyler, is 5 and has suffered the worst. She has severe brain damage and was not expected to survive past the first 12 hrs. As of this writing, she is breathing on her own and may be able to swallow some liquids but doctors caution us on how much of this innocent little girl we will get back but everyday and every positive moment is a blessing. She is currently in the Neuro ICU at LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN. Her mother is across the street at Regional One with severe internal injuries and is still on a ventilator and unaware of the childrens status. Bartly, 12 yrs old, had to be flown to the UK Childrens Hospital in Lexington, KY (which is a 6 hr drive from the rest of the family) to attempt to reattach his left arm which was severed mere inches from his shoulder. At the moment he is stable and it was reattached but unsure of the final outcome. Their brother, Leland, is 10 and was lucky enough to be helping out his grandma for the day but unfortunate enought to bear the burden of lone survivor sydrome.  We have spent the last three weeks shuttling between the three hospitals and 3 different states. I have recently had to return to home to work and care for our daughters that have been staying with close friends. My wife has stayed in Memphis to watch over things there while my step son sits with Bartly so that he isn't alone. First and foremost we ask for your prayers for all those injured, but especially for Skyler. But currently we have exhausted not only our personal saving but our Christmas savings as well and now working on spending  the remainder of a down payment we were going to put on our first home.  At this point we have no idea what insurance there is, if any due to the fact that the father has pending charges resulting from the accident. We have assumed custody of the kids so that from here on out we can ensure that someone acts in their best interest at all times. Our greatest need right now is for my wife to be at the hospital with our family and for me to be home with our daughters and trying to prepare a proper home for them to come to when they are released from the hospital. Please keep in mind it doesn't matter $5 or $500 it all adds up for the kids. If interested in donating in other ways we are working on a list of things we will need once they do come home. Thank you for taking the time to read this. We are greatful for all of your prayers. For any mail correspondence we have set up a P.O. Box! P.O. Box 1142 Niceville, Florida 32578
