"Tips" to help send Santa home n get Postman back

Donation protected
"Better late than never!" or so the saying goes.

Especially for some who are getting to see Father Christmas almost three months after the festive period, in and around Westhoughton, Bolton.

But thanks to travel restrictions, Santa who has been stranded here, unable to fly back to the North Pole has had the chance to spread some extra Christmas spirit and cheer (and boy do we need it!) while carrying on doing what he does best, which is delivering presents to all the little (and big) boys and girls.
But now as spring approaches and it's getting a bit too warm for his fur suit, hopefully, he will get the green light (like the rest of the country waiting to return to some kind of normality) from Boris Johnson to continue on his merry way.

Thanks to Royal Mail for giving Santa a job. They also employed the Rainbow clown for five months during the first lockdown last year. Is Royal Mail that desperate/busy? The answer is probably yes, thanks to all you online shoppers(perks of working/studying from home, I guess!).
Talking of earnings and income, I hope it also works out for those struggling financially. With the vaccination programme now in fullish flow, It's looking promising, there's light at the end of the tunnel or as Santa says "there's a Christmas at the end of the year!!"

Ok, so let me explain myself if you're not already aware of these "characters" and thought you were seeing things or possibly going crazy if you've met either Rainbow Santa or Rainbow Clown over the last year.

It's just a postman trying to do his bit in the local community where he does his rounds, to try and relieve some of the stress and pressure that we're all feeling due to the pandemic.

We all have different ways of dealing with issues affecting our mental health, especially in these mad times. My approach is to fight fire with fire or should I say the corona craziness with my own craziness!!

We are all constantly being reminded of the danger to our physical health. But sometimes overlook our mental health.  Both are important but as I'm not medically qualified to help with any physical ailments I hope I can help a little bit on the mental side(although apologies for any mental trauma the clown may have caused for some.).
Going off all the tooting horns and smiling waving from passing vehicles to all the "Santa banter" I've had with loads of people out on the streets tells me that I've mainly succeeded in my mission.

Thank you btw to the NHS for all that you do. I hope in the future the public will get to know the full and true picture of the enormousness of the task, you faced on the frontline while carrying out your duties... Superheroes indeed! Oh and for giving me an excuse to dress up and act even sillier than I usually do.

As I was inspired by the rainbow artwork that started appearing in windows everywhere as a show of support and appreciation for the NHS and all other key workers when the pandemic first became a scary reality for us all last year.
So I started displaying my own rainbow colours on the costumes to show my appreciation and also give all the people who were "locked" in their houses, looking out from their windows something different to see from their neighbours garden. From there it has just carried on and on and on...and on(I've definitely got my money's worth out of the Santa costume. )

The clown especially got lots of positive comments mostly along the lines of "Thank you for brightening up my day!" although apologies for "frightening up your day" if you bumped into me and you're one of the few people who suffer from Coulrophobia (an irrational fear of clowns).
We did have lots of fun, what with the squeaking shoes winding up all the dogs and impromptu street/doorstep performances on my kazoo for birthday boys and girls along with lots of general silliness.
I think I'm now under pressure to continue(addicted to) trying to  "entertaining the locals" and am now receiving requests for new characters.
I will do my best to comply. The suggestions for an Easter-themed one have been noted... watch this space!

As I said before, the main aim of all three (oh yeah, including the postman...remember him?!) was/is to lighten the mood in such stressful, mad, and unfortunately for those that have lost loved ones..sad times!
A lot of people have been asking whether I was doing all this for charity or for a bet or because I have a fetish?!  So thought, no harm in setting up this page as I was already doing the legwork. I know should have set this up ages ago but "better late than never" as I said at the start.

So from originally just trying to raise a smile, I'm now trying to raise some money as well. There's no target as It's not about an actual amount but just the act of giving and spreading of goodwill and kindness.

I will split whatever I raise between several charities which I'm sure people will relate to in some way or other.  Although each charity won't get a huge amount, (I'm hoping  £200 each if we can get up to £1000 on here) I'm sure they will appreciate every pound we donate.

I'm gonna throw in my Xmas tips of around £700, which is incredibly and unbelievably generous of all those that have already shown their appreciation for me. A massive thank you to all who've already unknowingly donated!!

Unfortunately, I won't be putting in all the numerous gifts of chocolates and whiskies and other goodies into the pot as they are required to sustain my (not so optimal) performance, or is it bcoz I'm a chocalcoholic!?!

Anyway, if you would like to "tip" me to show your appreciation for my efforts either as a postman (my regulars know I always deliver...whenever, wherever, however) or as a self styled "street jester" then please feel free to donate.
