"It's a day to be alive" - 42km for Dad & Our Lady's Hospice

Hi, my name is Róisín Mooney, and on October 27th, I'll be running the Dublin Marathon to raise funds for Our Lady's Hospice and the incredible services they provide.

In 2019, my dad—an avid runner—passed away from cancer. He spent his final week at Our Lady's Hospice in Harold’s Cross, where my family and I witnessed firsthand the incredible dedication and care of the hospice staff. Their efforts to make an incredibly difficult time as comfortable as possible for my dad and our family left a lasting impact.

I ran my first half-marathon with my dad over a decade ago, and I’m certain he’ll be with me every step of the 42km. One of his favorite phrases, "It's a day to be alive," captures his appreciation for life, and I know how much he would have loved to participate in this marathon as well. On the 27th of October I’ll be running in his memory and in honor of all those who can no longer pursue the things they love, to support the hospice and its essential services.

Any donation, would mean the world and help make a real difference in the vital work the hospice continues to do.
