Hi, my name is Bridgette and welcome to Online Panhandling for Dummies. All jokes aside, I never thought I would find myself in such dire straits... In a bit of a pickle, some might say. But here I am, struggling on this uphill battle of life with one shoe (I would have had two shoes, I have a twin ‍❤️‍‍).

As of 2020, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease (a disorder that happens when the immune system attacks the thyroid), Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Fibromyalgia... The trifecta of pain and suffering, with a side of carpal tunnel in both hands as an added bonus. Alongside that, a torn rotator cuff (on which I had surgery this July), a few small strokes, and chronic kidney disease… I'm A Hot Mess Express! All these health issues have resulted in a tragic inability for me to work anymore.

Although I did not have a glamorous title, I truly enjoyed my life as a cook. Working at Jacks@Kenwood Tap and Center Lounge were some of the best years of my life. Other places not so much, but I met some wonderful people and served some fabulous food.

I am so grateful to have my loving brothers that have gotten me this far into this new chapter of my life. I honestly could not have made it without them. It is really hard for me to ask for help, but I am all out of options. So that brings us to here. I am asking for your help and support to keep me out of the weeds until the year's end. Hopefully, disability will kick in and then at least I'll have some semblance of financial security.
