Help Make Sure Children in JAMAICA Smile Again After Hurricane Melissa
On 28 October, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica, tearing through parts of the island, severely impacting the West. The Caribbean is facing immense loss and areas of the island remain in ruins. Thousands of children’s lives have been shattered — their homes destroyed, schools flooded, minds thwarted and their sense of safety ripped away, overnight.
Our Mission and Local Partnerships
As a proud wife to my Claredonian sweetheart, a Civil Servant and of St Thomas decent, we have partnered with our local Church —Olive Tree Church of God— to serve local communities in Jamaica, helping children and supporting families in need. Friends, relatives, and community representatives we know personally have been directly impacted by Hurricane Melissa.
We know rebuilding and repairing infrastructure such as houses, community buildings and schools will take time, but what our children need now is immediate support and the essentials that allow them to return to some sense of normality, feeling comforted during a time of crisis.
Today, we are asking you to help us prevent any child from having to face the heartbreak of the hurricane aftermath alone. Every child deserves the chance to grow, learn, and dream and together, we can ensure that children are supported in their time of need.
We are working closely with local community representatives in Jamaica who are assessing damage and coordinating with families and children most in need, ensuring that every pound raised is directed where it will have the greatest impact.
We are committed to helping families and children in Jamaica rebuild, restore and recover what was lost to the hurricane. We believe all children are a blessing; a hope; and the future.
