It Takes A Village- Support through Brain Cancer for Kris

Donation protected
One of my closest friends, Kris, is currently facing the unimaginable: a terminal brain cancer diagnosis.

Kris and I have been friends for 22 years. Our children are growing up as good friends, and our families are closely connected. He’s one of life’s truly good people, the kind of person who gives without expecting anything in return. The kind of friend who always shows up for others, no matter what he’s going through himself.

Kris owns his own plumbing business and has always worked incredibly hard to provide for his family, often working long hours and still somehow finding time to help out friends and neighbours with his skills, never asking for anything in return. That’s just who he is.

In November 2024, Kris had a sudden seizure and was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour. Since then, he has undergone an awake craniotomy (yes, awake), completed six tough weeks of radiotherapy, and is now undergoing chemotherapy that will continue into spring 2026.

Through it all, he’s shown unimaginable strength and bravery. And beside him every step of the way is his wife Sian- an absolute powerhouse who is working, parenting, caring, and somehow managing to hold everything together for their young family.

But of course, behind that strength lies a very real, very heavy burden- especially financially. With Kris unable to work, and only one income coming in, the strain is something no family should have to face during such a painful time.

That’s why this fundraiser exists — not because Kris or Sian would ever ask for help (they wouldn’t, they’d hate to feel like they were putting anyone out) — but because they
deserve
it.

This is our chance to give back to people who have always put others first. To remind them they’re not alone. To help take the weight off, in whatever small way we can. Because it takes a village and now it’s time for us to be theirs.

Every donation goes directly to Kris and his family to use in whatever way helps most, whether that’s covering everyday costs, reducing stress, creating space for memories, or simply making life feel a little more manageable.

This page will remain open so anyone can get involved — whether by donating, sharing, or fundraising in their own way.

I’ll be starting by running regularly with my 7-month-old Son Quinn in his buggy, on my own or with others to raise awareness and funds... and I’d love for others to join me in spirit or in action. (let me know if you fancy jogging alongside for a good cause!) I’ll be tracking my runs (I’m very unfit so bear with me!) and posting updates so you can follow along!

From the bottom of my heart — thank you.
