“It Takes A Village” Project

Greetings! My name is Brother Jeremiah and I am a monk with the Ecumenical Order of Charity. I live in Philadelphia, PA in the USA and I am a healthcare worker. Over the past several years, I have established some meaningful bonds with and have "adopted" several young people from Africa who have no family support. I have taken these young people under my wings and have provided for their basic needs of food, shelter, medical expenses and education.

I’ve been doing this from my own means but the need has grown to where I need the support of others who will assist me in continuing to provide greatly needed help to these individuals who would otherwise go without these basic necessities.

There’s an African proverb that says, “it takes a village to raise a child.” I am in desperate need of folks to join this “village” so that I can continue the work that began a few years ago. In May of 2021, I established a nonprofit organization called Bethlehem House Ministries. One of the goals of this ministry is to continue to provide food, shelter, medical care and opportunities for education to these amazing young people that I have grown to know and love.
