It Takes A Village- Help Support Jenn and her Family
Donation protected
Dear family, friends and community,
I’ve created this page to support our friend, Jenn Wilson. Our beautiful, quirky, and creative Jenn who has always been a giver- willing to lend a hand, to offer her heart, to go above and beyond for her family, her friends, her students… and even strangers- once driving a rain soaked shopper at Food Basics back home. Jenn is part of a newly immigrant blended family and has been integral in helping her three step-children Byanka, Poliana and Guilharme to learn English, build their sense of community and thrive as productive individuals in their various career paths.
Despite being vigilant about her breast health, things were missed. Recently Jenn was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her liver. She is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy and is experiencing all of the debilitating side effects (illness, exhaustion, pain). Jenn’s partner Osvaldo is an incredible support, but he has had to take a considerable amount of time off work in order to be there for her. They have a daughter, Gabriela, who is 7. Gabi is curious and inquisitive… just like her mum. It was not an easy road for Jenn to become a mother, and she is determined to be there for her daughter, to provide a solid foundation so that Gabi can grow to be anything she wants to be.
What can we do?
We can help by taking care of some of her family’s needs so that Jenn can focus on getting well. Funds raised will help to alleviate financial burdens (from the family having to take time off work to unforeseen hospital costs to providing a sense of normalcy for Gabriela- opportunities to attend summer camps and after-school programs for example).
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference.
So please - Let’s come together to support our Jenn and her lovely family during this difficult time.
She has given so much to each of us…now we have the chance to reciprocate.
It truly takes a village…
Thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness.
