It Takes a Village: Help Me Start Residency in D.C.
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Chelsea Nash and I’m proud to share that I’ve recently graduated from medical school and matched into my dream residency program in Family Medicine at Medstar Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.! I’ll be moving from Sacramento in early June to begin this next chapter of my journey — and I’m humbly asking for support to help make this transition possible.
As the first physician in my family, this moment is incredibly meaningful. I’ve worked hard, overcome challenges, and remained focused on one goal: to serve and give back to communities like the one that raised me. I’ve dedicated myself to becoming a compassionate, community-centered family doctor — someone who advocates for health equity and access for all.
This May, I’ll also be giving the commencement speech at my medical school graduation, an honor that reflects not just my academic path, but the values I carry with me into residency.
Unfortunately, the cost of relocating across the country is significant. Between travel, housing deposits, licensing fees, and basic living expenses before my first paycheck, I’m facing a financial gap. I’m hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover these moving expenses and get me started in D.C. with stability and peace of mind.
If you’re able to donate — any amount helps — I would be deeply grateful. And if you can’t give right now, sharing this campaign with others would mean the world.
Thank you for being part of my village. Your support helps me step into this next phase grounded, focused, and ready to serve.
With gratitude,
Chelsea Nash
