I was diagnosed with Vaginal Cancer in March 2018.  Yes, you heard right!  Vaginal Cancer.  I didn’t know anything like that existed because I had NEVER heard of it before.    I haven’t told too many people because I’ve noticed it makes people uncomfortable (and perhaps myself as well) and I even had someone laugh when I told her (I guess it sounded new and ridiculous).  It is a very rare type of cancer and even rarer because it is undifferentiated clear cell adenocarcinoma which is the most aggressive form of cancer cell multiplying at an incredible and terrifying rate.

It was frightening for me and my family, but due to all the natural therapies we have been doing at home for the last year, I am doing really well.  The doctors are so surprised that the tumor is smaller than when it was discovered almost a  year ago which is due to a radical lifestyle change (lots of raw food, juices, sweating, exercise and supplements)!  The surface area of the tumor has reduced from 16cm2 to about 5cm2 which is quite phenomenal.  However, it has been at a standstill for a while now and my husband and I have been looking into other ways of fighting this thing.  There are other tests to figure out how the tumor operates and therapies to hit a stronger punch to the cancer.  After doing a lot of research, I’ve narrowed it down to Issel’s Immuno-Oncology in Santa Barbara, California.  The cost is $8500 a week.  After, looking at all my medical information, Dr. Issel suggested 2 weeks ($17,000) but we would know better once I got there and took more tests.  In general, the majority of patients he sees are in Stage III or IV who are usually out of more conventional resources, so he is very optimistic and happy to see someone coming in before getting radiation, chemotherapy or surgery.

I have a few days off in February from teaching, so I’d like to shoot for going the February 18-25.  If that doesn’t work out, I have Spring break April 15-19.  I included travel and lodgings in the goal.

While I do not wish cancer on ANYONE, it has been an incredible experience for me to go through.  I have experienced so much healing in my mind, body and spirit over the last year.  I have so much gratitude for life, my friends and family who I love so much!

I only want people to help who feel impressed to do so.  I know that all of you give money and time to a variety of charities, so I am not looking to take anything away from those needing it as well.

Please feel free to share this story and thank you for your support!

Love,

Marji
