On April 30th, Israel Garcia was severely injured in a devastating workplace accident. Doctors gave him a 0% chance of survival. His injuries were extensive and life-threatening: a nearly severed brain stem, multiple fractured vertebrae, a skull fractured in several places, and broken scapula, clavicle, jaw, and ribs—along with severe brain trauma.

For five days, Israel lay in the hospital with no brain activity or signs of response. As a family, we pleaded with God for a miracle. We held tightly to our faith and were uplifted by the countless prayers offered around the world.

By God’s grace, that miracle came.

Israel is now awake. He has full use of his limbs, his memory is intact, and he is on the long but hopeful road to recovery.

He has been transferred to Salt Lake City for intensive physical therapy and rehabilitation, where he is expected to remain for the next 2–3 months. While his medical expenses are covered by insurance, the cost of travel, food, and lodging for his fiancée, Sariah—who travels regularly from Idaho to be by his side—are not. There are also unknown future expenses once he returns home.

Incredibly, Israel and Sariah are still planning to keep their original wedding date in August. ❤️
