Our son Israel was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma on his left eye at two months of age I remember it was the saddest Christmas I ever had.... Our journey began with a lot of uncertainty. We had to travel 4 hours down to Miami (we are from Orlando) and his treatments were always in Miami, the doctor thought he could save his eyes! So we were hopeful, of course he needed quemo and laser and they tried quemo injections six times very rough for my baby boys eye... Last treatment was and what I think worked miracles for Israel was Intra-alterial infusion. That al happen his first 3-4 years of his life he is 8 now and we thought we out of the woods sad to know his demeanor started to change he wasn't my active boy, he had bad headaches and was not doing good at school one night was wanted to sleep with me and in the middle of the night his eye stated to bleed imagine waking up to that horror picture, I told my husband to stay calm that I will take him to the ER and this is how our journey continues... Here in Orlando no one knee how to help us so to Miami again... His eye is out very though day specially how are we going to tell him.... In our way back I felt a bump in the back of his head i mention it to his RB Doctor he told me to show it to the oncologist in Orlando sad find out it was tumor so from getting a biopsy the surgeon had to take it out... Now he is getting his Stem cell collection and will continue with his fourth round of quemo...We will continue fighting! Israel and all RB kids we are believing in you! We are going for kick cancer's butt!
Doctors did all test you could imagine and found more activity on Israels back. Things did moy look good for Israel.
What is next for Israel. He is scheadule for 4 cycles of quimo therapy, bone marrow transplant and Proton Radiation. All of this thigs will done in diferent hospital far from us.
Thank you greatly from Israel and The Roque Family
