HELP MUZZY TO REBUILD HER LOST HOME

DISGRACEFULLY, 2 YEARS LATER AND MUZZY STILL WAITS FOR FUNDING TO GET HER DESTROYED HOME REBUILT

EVER WONDER WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR HOMES TO HURRICANE SANDY?

Some of them had their homes rebuilt; unfortunately a lot of them did not. Sadly, Muzzy is one of the unfortunate ones still waiting to have her home rebuilt and get back to a normal way of life. She had flood insurance and did all the right things, but government bureaucracy, new regulations, and rising costs are preventing her home from getting rebuilt.  She had to get an attorney to get the flood insurance to pay but it is grossly insufficient.  She's been paying taxes and insurance on a condemned home that is uninhabitable and she is not even allowed to remove the structure.  The new bureaucratic rules and laws that have been passed and put in place have changed the swiftness with which a home can be rebuilt.  New implementations of these laws are changing constantly making it near impossible to even get started and adding to the mounting cost of rebuilding.  Plus - FEMA requires anyone with 51% damage or more to their home to put the house in compliance especially if they live in the 100 year flood plain, which she does. She has no choice, she must raise the house or lose insurance. This is an injustice for such a wonderful and kind person who has given and sacrificed so much in her life

Please put yourself in her shoes. Can you image if a natural disaster was to strike in your area and you lost your home and didn’t have the money to rebuild it? What would you do? Where would you live? The photo really does say it all…. and can you believe this picture was taken in 2013?  Most people have gotten on with their lives since Hurricane Sandy struck the East Coast, but for Muzzy the nightmare continues now for 2 long years.  Now living in a trailer, she is not much closer to getting her destroyed home rebuilt.  Hurricane Sandy took the only home Muzzy has lived in during her adult life and paid her insurance premiums on for 69 years. Where is the logic or justice in that?  Her family has financially given everything they can but she still needs $100,000 to close the gap and start the rebuild. She is feeling overwhelmed with the costs and is losing hope that her home will ever get rebuilt. Please help Muzzy rebuild her home. She would appreciate any dollar amount you can give and please forward her story to anyone you know that might be able help.  If only 10,000 people gave just $10 each her goal could be reached to get her home rebuilt and allow her to live out her golden years with dignity. Thank you and God bless you for your donations!
