Isobel’s Triathlon for Macmillan Cancer Support
Hello! On the 31st of August I will be taking part in my first Triathlon and raising money in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me!
I have never attempted a Triathlon before so this will be a challenge for me, I have been and will be training each week to push myself ready for the 31st of August. My family has been affected by cancer for years, predominately the women, my aunties, grandma, close family friends and most recently my mum. Having been a part of my mums cancer journey, witnessing a non linear path (and the incredible NHS) I have seen how charity’s like MacMillan can heal, bring hope and mentally support cancer patients. This work is vital, caring, and not only help cancer patients but friends and family.
Mental health is really important to me personally, I have struggled with my own anxiety (OCD), and pushing myself to complete a triathlon, using exercise as a way of meditation and raising money for something I can see makes a difference means an awful lot to me.
Triathlon Breakdown:
1500m, open water swim
40km, bike ride
10km, run
I would really appreciate every penny, and if you would like to donate to a mental health charity as well that would be amazing asthey are underfunded and vital for research and people struggling.
Thank you so very much, Isobel x
