ABOUT THIS CAMPAIGN

In this campaign, we’re raising funds for our student film Isn’t It Called True Love? a heartbreaking tragedy told through fractured memories, exploring love, loss, and how miscommunication can destroy everything when you realise the truth too late.

Growing up in the Territory, I’ve been exposed to relationships like Harry and Eden. They represent people I’ve come across in my life, people who love deeply but don’t know how to show it, hiding vulnerability behind toughness and pride. I wanted to tell a story that feels raw and real through its emotion and regret. Neither of the lead characters are bad people, yet their actions deeply affect one another. This film explores love across the years and shows how tragedy can come not from hate, but from misunderstanding and unspoken words. – Seaning

WHAT'S THE STORY ABOUT?

Harry bleeds out in the shower as fractured memories of his love, Eden, flood back. Their relationship slowly collapses under exhaustion and miscommunication, until one final fight ends with Eden’s fatal fall and Harry discovers too late that she was pregnant. Devastated by guilt, for love, Harry crosses a line he never imagined he would.

A heartbreaking story of love, loss, and the terrifying question: what would someone do for love?

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR MONEY?

Our fundraising goal is $2,500, to support our incredible cast and crew, who are generously volunteering their time to help bring these characters and this story to life. Your contribution will help us take care of them properly throughout production, including providing meals and basic on-set support.

These funds will also help us build the world of the film with the quality and care it deserves including props, costumes, locations, transport, and post-production.

Because the film includes an intense and emotionally heavy scene involving blood, we also need funding for special effects makeup to ensure this moment is portrayed realistically and safely.

Once completed, we plan to submit the film to a range of festivals. Festival submissions come with entry fees, and your support will help us share this story with wider audiences.

While we will be using equipment supplied by JMC Academy, we still need to hire specific gear to achieve the cinematic look and technical quality this film requires.
