Isla is 2 years old now, she was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy at 9 months old and had her first open heart surgery on June 12th 2024 to place a Berlin Heart. Isla waited 421 days for her miracle heart and received her transplant on July 29th 2025. Now that her perfect heart has been offered her parents will stay at her side for recovery and be unable to work for several weeks until she is discharged. After she does get to go home there will still be lots of travel expenses due to weekly clinic visits 2.5 hours away from home for at least a year then the visits will be spread out a bit more.
