Hafa Adai Dear Friends, 2020 was bitter sweet for us. We should've kicked off our 20th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraising Campaign. Instead, we found ourselves reinventing the way we support the community and struggling to keep our utilities paid.
Much was accomplished and thankfully, we had a lot to give to families. There is so more we will continue to do.
Our main operational revenue was cut due to COVID-19. Our Kurason I'sengsong Thrift Store has been closed since March 2020.
Currently, we have no paid staff. We are all volunteering to keep our program alive. We need your support.
Island Girl Power: Island Girl Power is a prevention program under the Ayuda Foundation/Island. We started planning Female Empowerment programs in 2000. Currently, our program consists of a thrift store, Family enrichment center, 2 girl's clubhouses, school programs, environmental center, community garden and an 11 acre nature park. Our mission is to reduce the rates of family violence, sexual assault, substance abuse and suicide. We achieve this by encouraging participants to find their passion through positivity. Our work to Empower, Encourage and Inspire the community continues. We are committed to growing a community of helpers.
