Isiah’s Road To Recovery

On Friday September 17,2021 what no parent’s want to face happened. Isiah was in a life threatening ATV accident.

Thankfully his father, Andrew Mallery was quickly on the scene and was able to save his life with CPR. Later that night, Isiah was air lifted to IWK in Halifax, N.S in ICU.

Isiah suffered two broken vertebrae’s (C1,C2), incomplete brain stem injury, a broken collarbone and bruised lungs. He had a surgery to fuse the two vertebrae’s together .

Currently, Isiah is still in ICU. Saturday, he had to have another surgery. He had a tracheostomy to better help him breath as he was in a lot of discomfort.

As per doctor’s and medical team at IWK they are unsure of recovery time and the road to recovery.

Due to the severity of damage shown, parents were told it could be several months of rehabilitation and recovery. No one knows how long this could take. It’s a day by day basis.

Isiah will stay at IWK until he can be transferred back to his province in N.B. Even once in N.B, his recovery will take place in Fredericton (2hr drive away from home).

The parents are at Isiah’s side at all times. They are a family of seven, with five children under the age of eight years old, and a baby of four months old.

Parents must alternate taking turns to be with Isiah, and to be home taking care of his brothers and sister.

As a family, we have decided to create this Go Fund Me Page. This will help them with all the emotional and financial strain. This would help them focus on getting Isiah back to health and focus on taking care of their family without the financial stress. These funds will help them to pay for travelling expenses, gas, parking fees, monthly expenses, food, and any other unexpected fees that may arise during his recovery period.
