I’m writing this in hopes of helping out my cousin and her family. On October 5th, my cousin Ronda Dishaw, 30, had picked up her children (7 and 5 years old) from their grandmothers house after dinner with a friend and was headed home to her husband Weston Dishaw, 33, for the night. When Ronda had arrived to her home she found her house full of smoke. Ronda could not make it up to her husband Weston who had become unconscious and entrapped in their bedroom on the second floor of the home. The Ishpeming Fire Department and Ishpeming Township Fire Department assisted in getting Weston out of the house. Weston had been unresponsive at this time and the EMT’s on scene had to Resuscitate him. Weston was rushed to Marquette General and then was flown to the burn center in Ann Arbor. He is currently on the ventilator and the doctors plan on doing a bronchial treatment. Depending how he does today, they may try and wake him. We will update on his condition when we know more.
Ronda and Weston have lost everything that they have worked so hard for. Their kids have lost their toys, clothes, etc. and also their family home.
We are grateful that Ronda, Weston, the kids and their dogs had made it out, but so devastated for them and their losses.
Their family will have to rebuild everything. They will also have substantial medical bills and travel costs from Ronda going to Ann Arbor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if it’s just a share to get the word out.
Thank you,
Katlyn Rosewall
