Final Senior Collection

My name is Isabela Eve and I am currently a senior at SCAD where I am pursuing a BA in Fashion Design.
Growing up my mother used to share photos of my grandmother and I remember being drawn to her incredible sense of style. I also couldn’t help but notice that in every picture she seemed to exude this incredible confidence. It was through these images that I came to understand how fashion is one of the most powerful ways we have to express ourselves. Fashion became much more than just designing something pretty, it was a way of being. Fashion is about ideas and the way we live.
Throughout my tenure at SCAD, including the intervening summers interning at Ralph Lauren, I have had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from current and future fashion innovators. The inspiration found, insights shared, and technical skills honed along the way have helped me to shape my vision as a designer by fostering my passion while preparing me for the industry after graduation. What I am raising money for:
As a Senior at SCAD, we are required to create, from design to conception, a collection consisting of six different looks. Once completed the collection will be shown to a Jury, made up of industry professionals, who will decide whether it should be included in the SCAD fashion show this May. To present at this show would be an incredible opportunity due to the exposure it brings to all upcoming designers.
In June of last year, I began the research and brainstorming phase of the process, finding inspiration in nature and urban structures. As my sketches evolved they became a tribute to that natural world which surrounds us and sometimes goes unnoticed or unappreciated. I wanted to remind people that a harmonious relationship between the organic and inorganic can exist in fashion through reclamation and repurposing of everyday materials.
Now it is time to bring the collection to "life". I am hoping to raise enough funds to help cover the necessary costs for all needed materials to complete my vision.
Where Your Contribution Goes:
• Fabrics for all 6 designs
• Trims (zippers, buttons, thread)
• Printing costs (leave behinds/presentation materials)
• Photography
Timeframe:
Beginning on March 28, I will be working on look 1 of my line up, and from that point on I will be expected to complete a look a week in order to be considered by the jury panel.
This collection means so much to me. I have put in countless hours and effort into making this something I will be truly proud of for the rest of my life. This collection will also be a great asset to my portfolio, which will help me as I begin my job search following graduation. I have been so lucky to have such incredible support throughout my life, especially over the past fours years and I am excited to share this next step with all!
Thank you so much!
