Isaiah's Home of Love is one of the orphanages run by Our Neighbours Ministry in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. It is home to 20+ children ages birth to 5 years old and staff. You can read further about the home on their website.
My husband and I have had the previledge to spend some time with our children at the oprhanage in May/June 2014 when we had returned to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe to spend time with family who are still in Bulawayo. It was such a blessing and a joy. For years we had heard stories from my sister-in-;aw about the ministry she was involved in, we had been praying for these children but finally we got to experience first-hand and spend time loving on these precious ones.
My sister-in-law, Belinda Wilson, Office Administrator for the ministry brought to our attention that on Sunday evening the home had a fire. All children and staff were evacuated safely and housed next door.
The structure of the home is safe but there is significant damage to a couple of the rooms and the roof. Beds were lost; linens, matresses, bed frames and as you can see from the photos below there was damage done to the roof/ceilings as well as all the clean up expenses. The structure/building is covered by insurance. The contents within the home were not. These costs add up.
