Recovery for Isaiah's Traumatic Brain Injury
Donation protected
Isaiah’s friends have created this fundraiser for him and his family. On October 1st, Isaiah experienced a fall that resulted in a subdural hematoma and facial fractures. He spent one night in ICU, three nights in the neurosciences center, and then was released from the hospital on October 6th. During the next three days at home with his mother, his progress seemed to decline, so they returned to the ER on Sunday, October 9th. Typically swelling of the brain will happen within the 1st 72 hours after experiencing a traumatic brain injury; however, Isaiah had delayed swelling in his brain. On Sunday, October 9th, upon returning to the ER, Isaiah immediately underwent surgery, where they performed a craniectomy. He then spent three nights in the ICU and two nights in the neurosciences center and is now doing inpatient rehab consisting of occupational, physical, and speech therapies. He will have a long rough road to recovery but is well on his way now.
Isaiah is an outstanding son, friend, and student. He is strong, determined, and will recover. He is doing well with progressing through this situation and could use all the prayers, love, support, and good vibes that he can get.
All donations will be used to pay for medical expenses and other costs supporting his recovery.
