Isaiah Locke

September 8th, 2020, I got the most devastating call - my niece screaming through the phone for me to find her baby, my nephew, after he had been shot. I will never get her voice out of my head . Now, literally five years later to the day, September 8th, 2025, my son walked out my door alive and well, and he said, 'Ma, I'll be right back, I'm going to the gas station.' Not even 15 minutes later, one of his three friends called me, saying he was shot . His friend almost crashed into an ambulance to stop them to help my son. I asked him one question: 'Is my son alive?' He said, 'He's well, OG, he's good' . About 30 minutes later, the doctor looked at me and my sisters and said, 'We did everything we could, unfortunately, Isaiah passed' . The same exact words the doctor told me and my sister five years ago about my nephew. I have literally been forcing myself to keep breathing. My baby, my Sour Patch Kid, my shadow, my protector, left me in the blink of an eye. I will never be okay.

On behalf of our family, we are heartbroken to share the sudden and tragic loss of Isaiah, who was taken from us far too soon at just 21 years old. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend whose life was cut short in a senseless act of violence.

He brought laughter, love, and light into every room he entered, and his presence will forever be missed by his mother, his two brothers, and his sister.

This tragedy was completely unexpected and has left his family not only grieving but also facing the overwhelming burden of funeral expenses. As this was so sudden and unplanned, we are asking for support from close friends, family, and anyone touched by this story to help lay Isaiah to rest with the love and dignity he deserves.
