ISACA NorCal Earthquake Relief for Turkey

Please note that this fundraiser will close on Sunday, April 23rd at 11:59 PM PST. ISACA SV is going to match $1,000, and ISACA SF and ISACA Sacramento are each going to match $500 to whatever amount is raised.

On February 6, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake followed soon after by a 7.5 magnitude aftershock affected hundreds of thousands across Turkiye and Syria. Strong aftershocks have continued to threaten weakened structures. The quakes have taken the lives of over 43,000 Turkish residents and 6,000 Syrian residents, and displaced hundreds of thousands.

As such, the ISACA Silicon Valley, ISACA San Francisco and ISACA Sacramento Chapters have made it our mission to exemplify our purpose, promise, and values by supporting those who are impacted by these events. Through this initiative, we believe that together, the members and patrons of ISACA will be able to make a difference in this time of great need.

For the beneficiary of our collective effort, we have chosen Turkey Philanthropy Funds who is providing aid to those affected by the earthquake. Your tax-deductible donation will help us support those who are responding to these victims. By supporting organizations such as TPF, the ability to provide shelter, food, water, and other necessities is crucial to helping these citizens re-build.

1. How does Turkish Philanthropy Funds receive my donation? Since ISACA SV created the campaign on behalf of a non-profit organization, GoFundMe has a partner, PayPal Giving Fund, that receives the donations and grants the funds to the non-profit via PayPal, or via check if the non-profit is not enrolled with PayPal Giving Fund. They deliver the money to the charity near the 25th of the month, and typically within 15-45 days of the donation.

2. Is my donation tax-deductible? Yes, since your donation is for a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, your donation is 100% tax-deductible.

3. Who will send me a tax receipt? GoFundMe is partners with PayPal Giving Fund, who will send you a tax receipt for your donation.
