Hello friends and family! This summer I will be studying abroad in Antigua, Guatemala! I am so excited for this opportunity, especially since I am a first-generation student. While I am in Guatemala I will be undertaking an ESL internship at a preschool, learning about the cultural and social context of education in Guatemala and the U.S., and taking a Spanish class as well. I am applying for as many scholarships as I can, and I have received my first one from the UT Summer Faculty-Led Program. My estimated total program costs are $7,000 and I currently have $2,000 of it with my first scholarship. I am applying for the HiUSA scholarship which is another $2,000. Any amount you can give helps and will be very appreciated.
