In December 2023, she was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma in her right tonsil that has since spread to the surrounding soft tissue in her throat. She will have to undergo 7 weeks of treatment with radiation and chemotherapy.

Isabel is a young adult, living on her own and navigating the complexities of life. Unfortunately, her recent employment of less than a year disqualifies her from FMLA benefits. The ongoing doctor appointments have already exhausted her PTO hours, medical bills are piling up, and rent is looming.

As she gears up for chemo and radiation treatments, the financial strain is increasing. Isabel hasn't met her high deductible, and even after that, there's a substantial portion she will need to cover.
