Isabelle Needs Your Help for Environmental Summit

Hello, my name is Isabelle Pietrini and I am a sophomore at Morton West High School in Illinois. I have been asked by George Mason University to be a National Youth Delegate representing my state at the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment in Washington DC this June and I am trying to raise funds to cover the expenses so that I may attend.

My love of the environment and wildlife has driven me to choose environmental engineering for my life path. That, along with extensive environmental volunteering and excellent academic performance prompted WYSE to invite me to this summit. I am one of only 300 youth in all of the United States to

be invited to participate. Not only is this an amazing honor, but it is an unmatched opportunity to further my learning about the pressing environmental struggles that need to be met, what is currently being done, and to have hands-on interactions with those in power to make such changes come to pass.

Over the course of ten days I will get a chance to:

-Meet peers from all over the country interested in fighting for conservation and the environment

-Network and converse with conservation specialists, scientists, and distinguished scholars in the field

-Speak with policy makers on Capitol Hill

-Have a one on one meeting with our Congressional Representative

-Get hands-on experience with labs and field studies

-Attend lectures on the forefront of conservation, sustainability, environmental science, and environmental policy

As I mentioned, I am very honored and excited to be given this opportunity, but I cannot attend without financial support. The issues we are facing in the world are massive and it will take the work of many to address them.
