I am on a mission to help souls find happiness in God.Can you help me fulfill this goal?
A little bit about me:
I am eighteen years old and the oldest child of six. I have attended a Catholic school my whole life up until these past two years when I decided to homeschool. It was during these past two years that I have felt called to something more than the ordinary life I was living. The call to be a missionary began swelling within me until I reached the point where I am today. This past May, the mission of Hard as Nails was put on my heart and after much prayer and discernment, I am so excited to announce that I have been accepted into their one year missionary program!
What is Hard as Nails Ministry (HANM)?
Hard as Nails is a team of evangelists on a mission to awaken the world, in particular, youth, to the power of God’s love. This speaks to my heart because through my various pains and struggles at different points during my early and mid-teen years, I clung to a deep truth that God loved me, no matter what or no matter who I was rejected or hurt by. This was my life-line during times of pain and I want to be able to share this youth around the world. This ministry reaches out to give hope and share the truth of God’s love, which many youth do not believe or know. The team does this by traveling across the country by bus preaching at school and church events. Missionaries also stay at their base in Syracuse, New York evangelizing within the community and taking part in local retreats. I will be a part of their missionary program, helping where I am needed and witnessing to the power of God’s love. (Learn more about HANM http://hanm.org/ )
Why is this something that I want to do?
From a young age, I have known I wanted to do some type of mission work when I got older. I just wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do. HANM has been a significant part of my life ever since they started visiting Catholic Familyland, a place I call my second home.
I have always been so attracted to the way the ministry evangelized and reached out to teens. They impacted, very personally and powerfully. I knew I wanted to be a part of that and touch people the way they touched me. Within this past year, I started talking to the founder of the ministry, Justin Fatica, about my desire to join the team. In just a few weeks, I found out that I was able to finish my senior year of high school early and could now apply for a missionary position.
I found out I was accepted into the program earlier this week and could not be more excited! I leave on September 1, 2017 for Syracuse, New York to begin my new life as a missionary. Please know I will hold you all close to my heart in prayer, and I ask for your prayers that I may respond to God’s grace and be a vessel of His love to others.
What can you do?
Each missionary is responsible to raise up to 10,000 to support themselves in their year of volunteer mission work. This includes the cost of travel, meals, and other living accommodations.
All donations to HANM are tax-deductible. A check can be mailed directly to HANM (address below) and 100% of your donation will be put towards reaching my goal.
