Isabella’s journey with Ewings Sarcoma
Donation protected
Isabella is a sweet, funny and kind teenager. She is an artist, animal lover and generally wonderful little person making plans for college and beyond for next year. One day in November of 2023, she woke up in pain. Her arm and shoulder hurt which escalated over the next few days until the pain moved into her side and chest. While this was going on we went to several doctors and the ER trying to find out what was happening. Eventually a CAT scan was done which revealed a 13 cm mass and surrounding fluid in her chest that had deflated a lung and moved her heart to one side. She was admitted to Children’s hospital on 12/2/2023 and a biopsy was done. By 12/7/2023 we were told the mass is cancerous and she was eventually transferred to St Jude’s hospital a few weeks later.
We do have a treatment plan in place and are so grateful and lucky to be in such a great place as St Jude’s. I have been out of work for about a month and have been SO lucky to have wonderful bosses and coworkers (extended family, really) to help but that’s not sustainable long term and this will be a lengthy journey- 7 months at least. The amount is set high to allow for donations for longer term. Any and all funds raised would be to cover costs of food for dietary plan, time off work, home improvements for her health, bills and any additional expenses while we are in this process.
Also: She loves kittens, deer and bunnies so any little cute gifs, pictures or cards would also be very much appreciated along with anything that makes her smile! Thank you so much.
