Hi Everyone, my name is Sandra Palacios. Isabella is my 13-year-old niece. I am starting this fund to assist her family pay towards medical expenses (deductibles, co-pays, and maximum out-of-pocket expenses), and ongoing treatments.

Isabella is a creative soul that loves animals, her siblings, the beach, and her many pets, and loves to travel. She is an amazing big sister to 3 little ones and a little sister to 2 teenagers. She has shown unmatched strength and courage from very early on, when at age 3 she was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata Totalis, then in 2018 she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's. She demonstrated courage, poise and composure that none of us can imagine. She's tough, tougher than any of the tormented and anxious adults in her life.

A couple of months before her 13th birthday, she had a bump on her neck and got very sick. She went to Primary Children's to have a biopsy and was thereafter diagnosed with Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma that had spread to several lymph nodes. No parent should have to hear this about their child and no child should have to have to deal with the gravity of cancer.

Under the care of some amazing doctors at Primary Children's Hospital, Isabella had surgery to remove her entire thyroid and neck dissection to remove a total of 52 nodules. She is recovering at home and is super eager to go back to school to see her friends, as any teenager should be! This journey will not be short and will not be easy. The support we are seeking is to assist with her ongoing therapy. She starts radioactive iodine therapy in a few weeks. She will also need ongoing labs, ongoing medication, and ongoing care that is frankly starting to add up.
