I'm going to Ireland!!! While in my senior year, studying Elementary Education at Central Michigan University, I was given the opportunity to study abroad and experience elementary schools in Ireland.

I decided to go on this trip because not only has it always been my dream to travel, but I will take any opportunity I can to become the best teacher I can be for the next generation. Witnessing the education system in Ireland will give me new insights into teaching strategies and practices that I will be able to incorporate into my future classroom. This experience will expand my knowledge of education, which I believe is very important because although I am reaching the end of my time at University, there is always more to learn!

During this trip, I will be spending my time in classrooms, observing and participating in Irish classrooms to build a new perspective on education. While outside of school, we will be able to explore Westport, Ireland. We will go on sightseeing trips as a whole group while also having time to break off into smaller groups to explore on our own.

As stated previously, I am currently in my senior year at CMU. While in my senior year, I am taking my Pre-Student Teaching in this Spring semester and Student Teaching in the Fall. Pre-student teaching has already taught me so much about teaching, but one thing I have found is how exhausting it can be after a long day in the classroom. Unfortunately, because of this, I cannot work as much as I would like to. Being a full-time student, school is my top priority, and so I have had to cut back on the hours at work. This trip is very expensive, so I am trying to save up money and am applying for as many scholarships as I can. With this, I am asking for as much help as I can get to get to Ireland. Every dollar counts, and it will all go towards things such as the flight, the class I have to take, food, transportation, and where I'll be staying. If you are not able to donate, I understand, and I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to read this post. I will give as many updates as I can, especially in the form of pictures I take while on my trip. :)
