Isabella Fow Memorial

We are friends of Jon & Leslie Fow. We are writing to bring awareness to sepsis prevention and to ask a favor of you.

On February 15, 2014, the Fow’s beloved 8 year old daughter (and Olin's, Ava’s & Lilla’s oldest sister), Isabella, passed away unexpectedly from sepsis. When caught early, sepsis is easily treatable with a strong dose of antibiotics. Through involvement with the Rory Staunton Foundation, the Fows are raising sepsis prevention awareness and advocating that hospitals put in place sepsis prevention protocols in hopes of saving other families from the devastating grief of losing a loved one.

Nearly 5 years ago, many of you generously donated to a YouCaring fund set up for Isabella’s memorial. You may have noticed the funds were returned to you last year. GoFundMe acquired the website YouCaring, access to accounts was closed and all funds were returned because the money had not been used.

A memorial garden at Bellevue Santa Fe Charter School was in the works, however a large scale construction project at the school put Isabella’s memorial garden on hold. In the meantime, a beautiful Tulip Tree overlooking the amphitheater where the school community gathers many mornings, was planted in her memory. Now that construction at school has just finished, we have reached out to Genesis Bronze in Paso Robles to design an uplifting, playful bronze sculpture for Isabella’s memorial. Cost of the sculpture is $20K. It’s a beautiful memorial to Isabella and also brings awareness to sepsis prevention. The statue will be inscribed with the school’s motto, “What we learn with pleasure we never forget.” It will bring much needed art to the newly renovated school grounds. You can take a sneak peek of the initial design maquette by Genesis Bronze in the enclosed photo. We are asking you to kindly consider donating to Isabella Grace’s memorial fund so we can proceed with design and fabrication of Isabella’s memorial statue, in hopes of having it installed on campus this Spring. Please help us share this message far & wide.
