Isabela's Story

This little angel is a survivor and has a story that shows she is the rainbow after the storm. Isabela underwent emergency brain surgery within 48 hours old after Mom and Dad noticed she had been having seizures that were originally dismissed by doctors and nurses. After a nurse witnessed the seizures, she underwent a series of tests and was transported to children’s hospital where she was prepped for surgery to save her life. It was later determined that sweet Isabela had suffered a stroke while she was still in her mama’s belly and part of her brain was already dead. Isabela had her surgery on Christmas’ Day. Mom and Dad call Isabela their Christmas’ miracle; Christmas will always have a whole new meaning for them. This family has been through so much in the last few months and they have this beautiful little girl here by the grace of God.
During Isabela’s first surgery, the doctors had to remove a piece of her skull and leave it out in a lab, so the swelling of her brain could get under control. After over two months of her first surgery, Isabela had a second surgery to put the piece of skull back. The surgery was successful, and her parents were relieved that the worse was behind them. Unfortunately, the battle on Isabela’s life didn’t stop with her second surgery as everyone was expecting; within only 4 weeks after her second surgery, her body absorbed the piece of skull and now part of Isabela’s brain is sticking out of her head without the protection from her skull. In a few months, Isabela will need a third surgery to fix this issue again. Meanwhile, Isabela keeps growing and surprising everyone with her strength. She is such a strong baby girl, a real warrior, that despite all the challenges and pain that she has endured in her life, she keeps a smile on her face.
The family's hospital bills are mounting and any help is so appreciated!
