My sweet six-year-old daughter's life was turned upside down a few months ago. It all started when she suddenly began having seizures and had to be airlifted to Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi. As a mother, you never think you'll get that call. My heart was in my throat the entire time.

​Her first brain surgery revealed a mysterious bacteria in her brain, but doctors couldn't identify exactly what it was. We hoped that was the end of our nightmare. But just last week, my daughter was airlifted again after experiencing terrible headaches and vomiting. She had to undergo a second brain surgery to remove more of the bacteria, but we are still without a diagnosis. Doctors are now considering transferring her to another hospital to find the answers we so desperately need.

​I've been by her side every step of the way, but the constant hospital stays, countless doctor visits, and the unexpected time away from work are taking a heavy toll. I've had to miss work to be with her and to take her to all her appointments, and the financial burden is starting to become overwhelming.
