Home Destroyed(No Ins)Help Isaacson & Coffey Home Storm 5-8
Donation protected
We are not the type to typically even accept help let alone ask for help. We are in over our heads. Half our house is gone! Every bit helps ❤️ Residents: Michael (Travis)37, Kellie(35), Jonny(10), and Leland(7) Isaacson. My dad Terry Coffey(70) also lives here.

EVERYONE IS SAFE AND OK!!
Our insurance has lapsed apparently for quite some time, so of course a 300 year old healty giant white oak tree fell on the house my great grandfather built in 1947. Half the house is completely demolished. Our bedroom, livingroom, and attic(where my dad was moving his room so the kids could have the other bedroom on the main floor) are gone.
****Expenses & updates at bottom*****
The storm was on Travis's(37) birthday, 5/8. Because we moved in again recently to be with my father, Terry Coffey (70, retired carpenter). The kid's Jonny (10) and Leland (7) were sleeping on the queen bed in the living room since we havent gotten their room together yet. Jonny was asleep directly under the beam, it could have easily been the worst outcome imaginable. Travis and I were watching tv in bed. Last week we moved the bed to the opposite side of the room thank god!!! Travis saved me with sweet ninja skills. Due to him protecting me with himself, he has reinjured his knee (2 prior knee surgeries) and hurt his back since all the sheetrock and ceiling fell on top of him while he was over me (Kellie, 36).
This home means very much to me and my family. It was struck by lightning and burned to the blockwork in 1948. My great grandparents rebuit the framework but ran out of money, the walls were cardboad and newspaper when my dad inherited it. My dad has put his entire life's work and savings into this familial home that we share. A few years ago dad signed it over to us(Travis & I). If anyone feels generous, anything and everything would be a huge help and would be forever be greatly appreciated, especially your time if anyone would care to help out with cleanup and recovery over the following several months.
(Pics are after we already cleared a bunch of sheet rock and beams, especially our bedroom)

We are going to try to do as much as we can ourselves because that's how life goes. Travis is a full time truck driver always working overtime so will pretty much only be able to devote his time to the house on the weekends. We will need some affordable extra hands for several months. We havent looked at materials yet or rented a dumpster. Leland (7) is severely traumatized, getting his therapy set up Monday.
Costs so far
*$8,000 to get the tree off the house
*$180 harbor freight clean up/PPE supplies
*Hired local good guy on hourly wage
Upcoming costs
*$??,000 building materials
*$400+ Dumpster rental
So much I can't think right now, will update.
UPDATE 5/12: We have moved in with Travis's granny on signal mountain. So thankful school is almost over, long drive to McConnell Elem.I drove up Robert's mill and the W road for the first time in the last 48hrs!
UPDATE 5/10: Tree removed from home. Start of clean up.
UPDATE 5/9: We were able to get some clothes, family albums, and the electronics the kids were so worried about.
