Help Isaac Live Fully—One Bucket List Dream at a Time

Isaac is 17 years old and has spent his entire life navigating the challenges of being medically complex. While he is currently considered chronically stable, Isaac lives with several life-threatening conditions that make every day a balancing act between courage, care, and hope.

Isaac was born with right lung hypoplasia and dextrocardia—meaning his heart is positioned on the right side of his chest. He also has two aortic aneurysms—one in his ascending aorta and another in the aortic arch—that are carefully monitored due to the serious risk they pose. In addition, he manages chronic deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and has recently undergone two major surgeries to stabilize his spine and neck.

These are just some of the conditions that have deeply impacted Isaac’s quality of life. While many 17-year-olds are learning to drive, hanging out with friends, and planning their futures, Isaac is fighting daily to live fully in the present. Because of his ongoing medical challenges, Isaac is now starting palliative care to focus on his comfort, symptom management, and quality of life.

As part of this journey, Isaac has created a bucket list—filled not with extravagant dreams, but with everyday experiences that most of us take for granted. Things like seeing new places, trying new foods, having fun adventures, and simply doing the things that make life feel “normal.” His goal? To complete his bucket list within a year.
