Isaac's Adventures

Donation protected

This GORGEOUS little man has defied all odds and is now 7yrs old.

Not expected to reach his 3rd Birthday, Isaac has shown he is much stronger than
his tiny 10kg body would lead you to believe!

His team at Southampton hospital have never known anyone like Isaac and have
now given in to the fact that he writes his own rules and doesn't follow any path
that is expected of him.

Isaac began his life as a healthy, bright and bubbly baby. He started showing
signs that things weren't quite right in his first few months and after
lots of heartache and pushing for answers, he was diagnosed with the very rare
genetic disorder Allan Herndon Dudley Syndrome.

Isaac is oxygen dependent and has a tracheotomy due to frequent respiratory
arrests. He can not tolerate food so is tube fed. He suffers with epilepsy, dystonia and lots of other complications.

Despite all of this, he has the most incredible smile that brings complete joy to
anyone lucky enough to meet him.

So, we are looking at adding another aspect to Isaac's life and help bring more
smiles to his face.

With the physical functions of a newborn baby and registered blind, Isaac relies
totally on his mum for every part of his care from his physical needs to his
emotional well-being.

Isaac adores being outside and loves going for walks in his specialised pushchair.
The only drawback with this is that it is not suitable for anything other than paths and pavements.

As Isaac has no muscle tone, he is unable to support his head so for him to have an all terrain buggy, it needs to be one that fully reclines and has the adaptations he
needs to keep him safe and secure.

We have found a company that supplies the perfect one and this will mean that
Isaac's mum will be able to take him for walks in the woods, along country paths
and onto the beach ~ all places that will provide Isaac with enhanced stimulation
and happiness!

Being able to open up Isaac's world will be brilliant for both him and his mum and enable them to enjoy more experiences together. Isaac can see movement and
changes in light so to be able to walk in the woods will be amazing  for him.

During these times of Covid-19, Isaac's world has become even smaller as trips into town have become almost impossible as he is so vulnerable. To be able to go
out and explore new and quieter areas will be perfect and with your help and
support, this is what we aim to do.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and thank you so much if you
are able to donate. If this isn't something you can do, you can still help by sharing
his fundraiser and help spread awareness of this special little boy.

Thank you so much.
