What is Sickle Cell Necrosis of the Femoral Head? Necrosis in the body is the dying of tissue or bone. In this case it is the dying / deterioration of the ball joint of Isaac’s Hips due to no blood or a lack of blood to the bone. This causes cartilage to break/wear away completely and limits/ removes mobility. It is excruciating, debilitating and painful. 

To give a little context to the cost of the op, he needs 4Million naira which is about £2000-£2500 for the most deteriorated side. He has raised 1million (£500)himself. The complete sugery procedure on both sides would cost about £4000-£5000. This operation is a huge expense but one that will give back my friend his mobility and strength after physiotherapy.
