Top surgery is life-changing care. Help me get mine.
Hi, I'm Isaac, or online I go by tuplepaw. I'm an artist, I love creating art to share with my peers, as well as encouraging others to do the same. I love my job, working full time as a freelance illustrator! I'm a 23 year old transgender man, but I'll hopefully only be 24 by the time I have the surgery.
That's a very short wait to me, because as a trans person living in the UK, I am no stranger to waiting. When I was 10 or 11, I remember sitting in a GP appointment with my Mum, where they were assuring me everyone feels that way at my age. That was the first time I experienced systematic injustice from how the NHS treats transgender people.
Cut to now, most recently, I've had appointments cancelled and pushed back 5 times in a row, promised to 'talk about' surgery at the next appointment, no, the next one, no, the next one-- it goes on for what seems like forever. I'm taking matters into my own hands for deciding when I'll get my treatment, because every milestone I reach, every birthday, every new year, just hurts. I don't want to go another year without the care I need. Luckily, due to my own resilience and the support of friends and family, there's only one thing between me and that goal now; funding.
I recently visited Miles G Berry of Cosmetic Surgery Partners on the recommendation of some local friends (shoutout you know who you are!) and had a consultation to get a quote for how much I'll need to fundraise.
Price Breakdown:
- £250 - consultation (paid out of pocket, 22/01/2026)
- £5,925 - booking deposit (50% of £11,850.00 quoted)
- £5,925 - surgery final payment (ideally latest December 2026)
- £1,000 - funding grocery + rent + bill costs to pay for the time I'll have to take away from work
I really hope I can make this goal, this treatment is literally life-changing. I think all trans people should have access to it, so knowing that people can come together to provide for people like me gives me so much hope for the world, even in such dark times.
