Isaac Lightbourn Medical Expenses

Hello Everyone! My Name is Katrina Lightbourn I am fundraising for my Grandfather Isaac Lightbourn's medical expenses. My Grandfather has always been the pillar of strength in our family, until he fell on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022. At 81 years old, my grandfather was still cooking, a phenomenal cook, with an ear-to-ear smile, perfectly timed jokes, moving around and love for life itself. Everyone who knows him knows that he is incredibly selfless and has so much love for his family.

However, due to severe pain, he was transported via ambulance on December 7th, 2022. He was evaluated and was found to have broken the neck of his right femur. My grandfather was later admitted to the public hospital and remained for 2 weeks. During his stay in the hospital, he was told that orthopedic surgeries take place on Tuesdays and the upcoming Tuesday was already booked. He was not given a date as to when he would have his procedure. Some days later he was told that the prosthetic was unavailable and needed to be ordered. My grandfather was becoming very frustrated and his desire to go home grew. After laying in the hospital for two weeks my grandfather reached his breaking point when he was told by a physician, at the hospital that it would take approximately three weeks for the prosthetic to arrive. At this moment he is home in a hospital bed and we are raising funds for his hip replacement surgery ASAP! However, he does not have health insurance and we do not have sufficient funds to acquire treatment for him. We love him dearly and do not want the unavailability of a prosthetic to keep him bound to a hospital bed for the rest of his life.
