Update:
Not only did we reach my campaign's goal of $3,500 the day before my procedure but we EXCEEDED it in the days following!
I put together this fundraiser last-minute and not sure what to expect. The result was a HUGE relief and a truly heartening experience that's all thanks to you!

Help Isaac Albanese #GetThisOff his chest!
Isaac entered this world a baby girl, spending the first two decades of his life female. At the age of twenty Isaac first began questioning his gender identity. He spent the following years withdrawn from friends and family; researching, networking, adjusting his appearance and wardrobe, and intensely reflecting on his life experiences.
In 2013, the summer of Isaac's graduation from college, he appeared in probate court to make Isaac Joseph his legal first and middle name. Working closely with his doctor, Isaac started hormone replacement therapy and has continued weekly injections of testosterone since 2015. Adjusting to his chosen name, new roles, and a new life was as daunting as it was exciting. He persevered.
The next step in Isaac's physical transition is gender-affirming chest surgery more commonly known to the transgender community as "top surgery."
On Wednesday, March 22, 2017 Isaac will undergo an outpatient double mastectomy procedure to remove feminine breast tissue and the need to bind his chest in public. There is a hefty $3,500 out-of-pocket expense for Isaac's procedure.
Each shirt is printed with Isaac's original design: a bra worn on a storage chest with the combined male and female symbols as a latch. Beneath the graphic is the text and tagline "#GetThisOffMyChest".
The t-shirts are available in three different colors: blue, white, and pink, to represent the three colors of the transgender flag.
Each purchase of a #GetThisOffMyChest t-shirt will directly support Isaac's top surgery fund and will allow Isaac to comfortably live out his life as the person he's discovered himself to be.

Isaac works at the Student Activities Office at Brown University, and is a 2017 Fellow of New Leaders Council Rhode Island. He has been a guest speaker on transgender identity as part of medical school, hospital, and adult learning programs in Rhode Island. Last year he performed an original spoken word reflection of his transition and its challenges as a part of the Men's Story Project at Brown University. He enjoys sharing his experiences with those who are unfamiliar with transgender people and is open to answering questions as long as they are respectful.
Isaac enjoys naps with his cat, gardening, video games, home improvement projects and puns. He lives with his wonderful, loving and supportive partner, his pets and friends in the house his grandfather built. He plans to one day travel with his partner, an avid Harry Potter fan, to the United Kingdom to visit the sites where the movies were filmed. Isaac is particularly excited about getting back to the gym after recovering from surgery.
