Once upon a time, two volunteer missionaries in Romania fell in love. They were married and became Alastair and Alison Johnson. Alison is from the US and Alastair is from England, where they eventually decided to live and settle as a family. They began to try to grow their love and have a child, but were unsure if they would succeed due to medical complications with Alison. Abigail was welcomed in a few years later, full term and is now a perfectly healthy 5 year old. After more years of hopeful, and prayerful trying, they conceived again. This is where Isaac's journey began. He is so very wanted, and has been celebrated from the start. It was spoken over him that he would bring joy, laughter and healing to many and this is already proving true.
Unexpectedly, and quite traumatically, Isaac was brought into the world by emergency cesarean at 28 weeks gestation. A full trimester premature, the odds and statistics were not in his favor. He has been covered in prayer across continents, around the clock, and is showing great, supernatural even, signs of improvement. His story and his family's journey has just begun.
It is projected, that this sweet miracle, will remain in the hospital well into January (although his family would love to have him home for Christmas). This means a complete upheaval and drastic change of routines, work, and daily life for everyone. Sweet Abby will be often in the care of family and friends while Alison and Alastair travel back and forth from home to the hospital to nurture, bond and care for Isaac. The Johnson's run their own business called Freebird Fitted Furniture (http://www.freebirdfittedfurniture.co.uk/), and Alastair is a gifted carpenter, but his work doesn't complete itself and Alison will be unable to manage the administrative side of things. Beyond that, with worry, extra responsibilities, being pulled in many directions, and all that life requires, the Johnson's are at a deficit.
The family has been covered in love, support, and prayer in so many ways already. They have received meals, gifts, and childcare among other things. Practically however, there will be an unavoidable financial hardship as unexpected expenses arise and Alastair is unable to carry the same workload in this season. It is the heart of family and friends, that Alison and Alastair be as freed up as possible to care for and be with their family thru this storm, no matter how long it takes to pass.
They are processing a lot of new information, new challenges and there are a lot of unknowns for what Isaac's future holds. The prognosis is such that their world will continue to shift and require many changes and adjustments to the life that they lived before. They are deeply in love with their precious boy. They are beyond grateful for the love and support of friends. If it were you in this story, they would pour their hearts out, bring you food, offer you shelter and empty their wallets. They live by the word and truly carry the burdens of others with joy and generosity. It is with humility and gratitude that we ask you to share what you have, no matter how great or small, to shower this family with love and covering as they journey with Isaac and experience great miracles. Thank you for your kind consideration and support. It means more than you could know.
We pray your family will be blessed by the story of their faith, love and hope as much as ours have. From the bottom of our hearts and theirs, thank you.
