Peightyn is 5 months old she will be 6 months on january 6th. We have been in and out of the ER in skagit valley sense she was a month old, with her projectile vommiting and just very sick. The doctors always sent us home with answers of her having GERD, or being allegic to her formula (so we switched), or having the flu or a cold. They would give her zofran and say she would be fine. The symptoms would come and go weekly but gradually worsen. Her pediatrician always said the same as the ER doctors and nurses and would perscribe us tylenol. Finally a week and a half ago we went in and they once again sent us home but said if she was worse to come back. December 10th around 8:30 am after we got off work she was just screaming and was feeling miserable and just vomiting so we decided to take her in because she was worsening and we had no clue what to do. We waited in the waiting room for an hour, then they took us back finally to a room where we waited 2 hours before a nurse evan came in to check on her and the whole time she was either very fussy or tried sleeping. The nurse finally came in after 3 hrs to say the doctor would be in 10 minutes we had one patient in front of us. An hour later the doctor pooked her head in to say she would be in shortly it wasnt until 45 minutes after that she finally came in to look at her. I told her everything that has been going on including the vommiting,  fussyness that is constant, she has a cold possible, we thought maybe she was teething because of the drowling, and her loss of interest in eating and just not keeping her formula down. The doctor started to talk to peightyn while I was holding her but peightyn wouldnt look at her she kept looking to the left which she has always done we knew it as a normal thing for our baby girl. The doctor looked concerned finally and told me she wanted to consult a pediatrician about it. I just thought in my head this is a normal thing for her but the others arnt why arnt you concerned about that? But when she came back she said they wanted to run a cat scan because they think maybe something was neurologically wrong I agreed to it and we were in the cat scan room within minutes and I was watching our little girl in this big machine and she finally smiled at me and the nurse I was just so happy to see that beautiful smile. After the scan we went back to our room and it wasnt even 5 minutes before the doctor was in the room with the results and she said she had some bad news and I should wake up my husband and I woke him up and she told us that peightyn had a mass in her left side of the brain. I was just in shock. The doctor said she was calling providence and childrens in seattle to see who was better equiped to take her on. Shortly they had a hellicopter come to airlift her to childrens in seattle. My husband was airlifted with her while I drove. All I kept thinking in my head was we have been telling this hospital some thing is wrong and no one did anything they just brushed her off. when we got to childrens they did an 2 hour MRI that showed a tumor and lots of bleeding into her brain on the left side that was 6cm. They watchdd her over night and the next morning her conditon got worse fast, her activity was to nothing she couldnt open her eyes her soft spot was swallen and hard within 30 minutes of checking it twice, and the bleeding began to go over to the right side of her brain, around  10:30am december 11th she was put on a breathing tube and rushed to the OR for emergency surgery. She was in surgery for 4 hours and came back out with better news than expected they managed to get alot of the bleeding and put a drainage tube on the top of her head to drain the rest that will accumulate later to keep the swelling down and the managed to get some on the tumor out but couldnt get the rest because it was too dangerous where the rest of it was located (next to her brain stem). Today being december 12th all night her heart rate has been dropped down to the 60's her lowest has been 56, her blood pressure has been high and respiratory has dropped as low as 10 all this being very bad for her, they are monitoring her constantly and takng amazing care of her at seattle childrens hospital we are waiting for another MRI this morning to see the actaul size of the tumor now that the bleeding is being drained for a better veiw of the tumor and the tumor will hopefully be visible.  she also has been having seizers but they are giving her medicine to control that and she is on an eeg constantly. She has opened her eyes and moving her left side of the body but having difficulty with moving her right side due to the tumor in her left side of the brain.we are struggling with just her issues alone but we also have a job that isnt easy which is deliverying papers everyday in mount vernon. We talked to our boss and there is no way to have some one cover for us unless we giving up half our paycheck we get a month for just one night, we get paid roughly .16 cents to .20 cents a paper and they would charge us $3.00 each paper to deliver for us. And we have a big route with many papers and doing the math it adds up quick what we would have to pay the skagit valley herald just to help us out with something have no control over. We are great at our job and have never missed a day in over a year, i did miss a coulple weeks due to the delivery of peightyn in july but my husband went to work while i stayed at home. But before I had a c-section for peightyn I worked until the night before I was in active labor. The last two days my husband has been forced to go back up to mount vernon to deliver our papers and then come straight back down to Seattle to be with me and our daughter he is exhausted and we are extremly stressed, and I am trying my best not to stress because I am about 7 weeks pregnant with our second child. We are just really looking for help finacially because between the gas cost to drive north and south daily plus the gas to drive the route is adding up already. Luckly today we found someone to do the route for one night but we have to pay her the pay we recieve for that night. We are already struggling before this devastion that we have no clue what to do but we know we are needing the extra money to make sure bills are paid and we are still able to be by our baby girls side any donation would be extremely helpful. I didnt know what to put as our goal amount because there is no telling how long we will be in the hospital we just know we are going to be here for awhile. Prayers are much appreciated also because we know that prayers are going to be the main help in this tye of situaion. Also we will know in a couple days if the tumor is cancerous and we are praying it isnt thank you for your time in reading this and just keep us in your prayers and thoughts through this time. I am doing updates all through out the day and night on my facebook every little change I let everybody know. Thank you. Rebecka blumm and dylan hunsucker. December 12, 2014
