MS 136 Charles O Dewey Soccer Program

Hi, my name is Dustin Rowland. I'm a teacher at MS 136: Charles O Dewey in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Two years ago, my colleagues and I started a soccer program at our school to meet the growing demand for the sport in our predominantly hispanic community. What began as a casual after school kick about has since evolved into a multi-season competitive team, full practice squad, and thriving after school club. Our kids are thrilled to have this opportunity to play and compete, but many of our families simply don't have the resources necessary to provide proper footwear and gear for our students to participate fully in indoor/outdoor training sessions and competitive matches.
