Iryna Slieptsova Fundraiser
Donation protected
In the first weeks of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the names of the Kyiv suburbs of Bucha and Irpen became symbols of unbelievable atrocities towards civilians. Sadly, the family of Irina Slieptsova experienced it first hand. A week after the start of the war, on the road from Irpen to Kyiv, a Russian tank fired at the car driven by Irina’s husband Andrey. Andrey died on the spot. Andrey’s eldest son Alexei and his wife Marianna were injured. Marianna's injuries were especially severe - both legs and an arm were badly damaged. By some miracle, the youngest, 14-year-old daughter Nastya, was not physically harmed. But her father died before her eyes - this alone is enough to leave her traumatized for life.
Irina and her 16-year-old daughter Nastya reside in Massachusetts now, while her son and daughter-in-law live in Germany, where they are still undergoing treatment. Irina works in a store, Nastya studies and works part-time at Dunkin’ Donuts. Their income is barely enough for their day-to-day needs. To rent even a very modest and inexpensive apartment, they need some initial capital, which they do not have.
We will be grateful for any help!

On a personal note: over the past year I had a chance to meet dozens of Ukrainian refugee families. They have all been through a lot. But believe me, Irina’s tragic story stands out.
I promise to report back to you on every dollar of your donations. Thank you!
