Hi everyone- I am starting this Go Fund Me for our friend Kevin Rezendes. Kevin will be donating one of his kidneys to a dear friend of ours this summer. The small whisper of being a donor actually started a few years back when another friend of his was in need, but received a family match.

Kevin met his soon to be recipient at our church, and believe it or not, he knew the first potential donor for this same friend very well. When that donation process didn’t go as hoped for, it was heart breaking news all around. Kevin sees his being a perfect match as a way to continue on in place of that friend, who is no longer with us here on earth.

His strong faith shows in this statement , “The way I see it is like it says in scripture ‘We are all one body in Christ’ so it’s not my kidney, it belongs to her too”.

We are hopeful the surgery will go as planned and barring any complications Kevin will be able to return to work in 8-12 weeks.

Unfortunately his family’s income will take a hit while he is recovering, so we wanted to start this Go Fund Me to help off set those lost wages and to give peace of mind that any unforeseen medical expenses would be covered.

God has been so good to provide our dear recipient friend with a perfect match right in our church family not once but twice. It’s literally a miracle!

Thank you for helping bring some financial peace to Kevin and his family and please keep them all in your prayers for a speedy and complete recovery for both parties.

UPDATE— We are one week away from the transplant surgery! Kevin and his family are so touched by everyone’s generosity and truly just want to thank you all for donating. Seeing how much our community comes together in times like this is just mind blowing!
