On the 17th August I will be competing in Ironman Copenhagen, which consists of 140.6 miles total divided into three sections: 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of cycling and 26.2 miles of running. Becoming an Ironman has been a longstanding goal of mine, and even considering the start line has required a long period of intense training and commitment. I'm not just doing this for the challenge, I'm also looking to raise funds for IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services) and so any spare change you are able to donate towards my efforts would be hugely appreciated!
IDAS is the largest specialist charity in Yorkshire, providing life-saving support to thousands of people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence each year. They offer emergency accommodation for individuals and families escaping abuse, ensuring they have a safe place to rebuild their lives. Their free, confidential helpline is a crucial lifeline for those in crisis, offering immediate advice and emotional support. Through their outreach services, IDAS provides tailored 1:1 support, group recovery programs, and advocacy to help survivors regain independence and confidence. They also work within the criminal justice system, offering specialist legal guidance and court support to ensure survivors' voices are heard and their rights protected.
Each year, IDAS needs to raise an additional £100,000 alongside their mainstream funding to continue providing these vital services. Your donation will help provide practical resources, expert guidance, and crucial emotional support to those escaping abuse. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a real difference.
Thank you for your support!
